Peer Observations

Faculty-to-faculty observations of teaching can be a useful way to get support, connect with colleagues, and improve skills.

They can also provide more helpful feedback on pedagogical effectiveness than student end-of-semester surveys. 

All assistant professors are encouraged to get an observation at least once per year.

Resources for faculty who wish to be observed: 

• Ask your department chair or school director, or faculty mentor, to recommend a colleague, and make the ask.  Feel free to share resources on this site in your ask. 
• If you can't locate someone in your home department or school, request a peer observation from an SDSU faculty member serving on our CTL Advisory Board.
