The Center for Teaching and Learning and the Writing Center invite applications for an intensive five-day seminar from May 23-27, 2016 with one follow-up meeting in August and two follow-up meetings during the 2016-2017 academic year. The purposes of the seminar are to investigate efficient and effective uses of writing in teaching and to explore benefits of writing for learning across the curriculum and within disciplines.

The seminar will meet Monday, May 23, through Friday, May 27, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day.  We will meet on campus, location TBA. Over the course of the program, participants will develop and implement a new or revised writing assignment and revised syllabus for a Fall 2016 course, give a presentation about their experience to their department or program, and write a final reflection. Participants who complete all requirements will receive $350 for professional development activities and materials.
