Predictive analytics has become a buzzword in higher education. But the hype surrounding ‘big data’ tends to obscure the people, processes, and high impact practices that put analytics to use in support of student success. In Fall 2017, SDSU is piloting Blackboard Predict to forecast student success and struggles in designated high failure rate courses. This cutting-edge way of leveraging data with timely interventions offers a potentially powerful mechanism of students identification at the point and time of failure, before it is too late, and offering them strategies for course correction.

Registration is required. This event is part of a series New Frontiers in Higher Education and Creating a Climate for Learning.
