Faculty role in sexual violence on campus

Workshop FlyerLunch & Learn
Wed Apr 19
noon – 1pm

This Lunch & Learn will explore how faculty members can best support students who have experienced sexual violence. What do we say? What do we not say? As members of the campus community, we are required to report incidences of sexual and dating violence. How can we manage our reporting obligations while creating a survivor-responsive campus community? This event will provide learning space for faculty to become familiar with the scope of the problem of sexual assault on college campuses and the resources available for survivors at SDSU. The majority of the time will focus on best practices for responding sensitively and effectively to student survivors who are experiencing an immediate crisis or ongoing trauma. Participants will leave with sample language for their syllabi and resources guides to share with students.

This event is part of the CTL series on Teaching the Whole Student.

* Graduate students are welcome to attend all CTL events, space permitting. If an event fills up, GTAs will be moved to the waitlist in the order in which they registered.
