The Common Experience is intended to foster student engagement across campus by inspiring creative, timely and relevant courses, projects and research, and by highlighting the cross-disciplinary nature of inquiry. This year’s projects have included art exhibitions, research seminars, theatrical productions, and new courses. But how can you use these events in your teaching?
This roundtable conversation will use the concept of Student Learning Outcomes to integrate Common Experience themes and activities into teaching across the curriculum. The hour will start with brief presentations by faculty who used Energy in their courses in disciplines ranging from Rhetoric and Writing, Art, Literature, and Tourism and Hospitality Management. There will be plenty of time during this hour to brainstorm Student Learning Outcomes, assignment and project ideas for next year’s theme: Experience Movement. Registration required.
