Come learn about campus efforts in using Learning Analytics and Supplemental Instruction to support students in historically challenging SDSU courses! Thanks to funding from the SDSU ‘Building on Excellence’ Strategic Plan, our goal is to reduce failure rates in the courses where Learning Analytics and Supplemental Instruction is employed. The model of Supplemental Instruction (SI) as developed at University of Missouri-Kansas City uses peer-led, voluntary study sessions to support all students in a particular course. Mark Laumakis (Psychology) will present results from the Fall 2015 pilot study in Psychology 101, and representatives from Instructional Technology Services will discuss plans to expand SI into additional courses across campus. Registration required.
