Video Everywhere: At Your Convenience!

Lunch & LearnVideo everywhere flyer
Th Feb 15
(arrive by 11:45am)

This lunch and learn event features faculty who are realizing the benefits of using video as part of their pedagogy. Prior to the event, we will share a short video that examines course capture form the student’s perspective. At the event we will showcase SDSU learning spaces that have built-in course capture automation as well as other ways that faculty can easily record themselves and their content anytime, anywhere.

We will explore why video is so important for learners today, including how to use video to make class time more engaging and to foster connections among students, as well as enabling students to learn at their own pace. We will provide current faculty use cases and address concerns about intellectual property and students not coming to class. The MyMediasite video portal will be demonstrated and faculty will leave knowing how to upload and publish any video with this secure and searchable platform. We will include a discussion on the powerful learning analytics associated with student viewing patterns. ITS staff will explore how faculty can make their own micro-learning assets, and just-in-time / on-demand videos and effective practices for their creation.

Registration required. This event is part of the CTL series Next Generation Learning Technologies, organized by our partners in Instructional Technology Services.

* Graduate students are welcome to attend all CTL events, space permitting. If an event fills up, GTAs will be moved to the waitlist in the order in which they registered.
