Instructional Technology Services (ITS) is pleased to present an overview of some new options available for creating dynamic assessment in your course. Please join your colleagues as we discuss these new technologies that can save you time and possibly improve student attention.
As class sizes grow and more courses begin incorporating video, it's important for faculty to understand what options exist to help manage workload and ensure that students are engaging with the material they are teaching. Faculty can now offer exams online easily and effectively, grade paper-based examinations using a mobile phone, and even set up checkpoints throughout a video that can be used to gauge student understanding.
Please join us to learn more about these new solutions, hear from faculty who have already experimented with some, and discuss how you may be able to incorporate a new idea into your pedagogy or teaching workflow.
Faculty who attend will be able to:
- Describe alternatives to conventional machine-scored exam hardware (ParScore) for high enrollment courses
- Discuss how faculty can employ in-video quizzing to encourage active viewing
- Explain how to learn more and get involved as a test pilot using these solutions
