Group Work that Works
Wed Feb 7
noon - 1:00pm
Having students work in collaborative groups is one of the most effective ways to increase engagement and student learning, but for many faculty it can be challenging to figure out the best way to structure and assess these groups. In this New Faculty Seminar, we will explore some of the characteristics of effective collaborative learning and discuss some 'best practices' for having students work in groups.
As a result of participating, faculty will be able to…
- Identify the components of effective collaborative learning activities
- Design effective group activities for their own courses
- Successfully facilitate group activities in their own courses
This event is part of the CTL series New Faculty Seminars. Registration required.
* Graduate students are welcome to attend all CTL events, space permitting. If an event fills up, GTAs will be moved to the waitlist in the order in which they registered.
