with an Interactive Classroom
Wednesday, November 1
Noon-1pm (Arrive earlier to eat)
Research shows that students learn more and are more engaged in classes where active learning techniques are used and yet the majority of instructors still spend the majority of class time lecturing to students. This hands-on workshop will introduce participants to low-cost ways to incorporate more active learning into your classroom, including using technology and simple forms of collaborative learning.
Attendees will be able to…
- Articulate the value of having a more interactive classroom
- Identify the challenges of interactive classrooms, and how to address them
- Formulate a plan to implement at least one interactive pedagogical strategy
Registration is required. This event is part of a series New Frontiers in Higher Education and Creating a Climate for Learning.
* Graduate students are welcome to attend all CTL events, space permitting. If an event fills up, GTAs will be moved to the waitlist in the order in which they registered.
