“Growth mindset” refers to the idea that innate, ‘fixed’ talent and intelligence alone do not determine success; rather, one’s ability to learn and to persist play a huge role. Students who understand this are much more likely to succeed both inside and outside the classroom. In this workshop, we will review the research on growth mindset and discuss strategies to help our students cultivate a growth mindset.
Attendees will be able to…
- Differentiate between a growth versus a fixed mindset
- Explain why a growth mindset is important for learning
- Identify strategies to help students cultivate a growth mindset
Registration required. This event is part of the CTL series Creating a Climate for Learning.
* Graduate students are welcome to attend all CTL events, space permitting. If an event fills up, GTAs will be moved to the waitlist in the order in which they registered.
