One of the best things instructors can do to help students in danger of falling behind is to catch these students early, before they pass the point of no return. Fortunately, there are readily available tools that make it relatively easy to identify these students. In this presentation, faculty members from psychology, math, and speech, language and hearing sciences, will share their experiences using the analytics dashboard and early warning tools in Blackboard to inform effective interventions to identify, reach, and support struggling students.
Keep in mind that identifying struggling students early does require having information on performance early so faculty are are encouraged to pair this event with the October 7 workshop on assessments. Both events are part of a fall series on Supporting Struggling Students.
